a moment of silence for the girls who don’t know that their boyfriends are gay
omg… could my boyfriend be gay!
(via damnafricawhathappened)
This makes me inexplicably happy.
I smiled uncontrollably when it started playing, omg this needs to be everywhere on tumblr.
Roger Miller. The man.
There’s no reason for me to not reblog this.

Just a note to all people planning on giving blood, remember it only has a shelf life of 42 days. After 9/11, so many people donated that there was a glut of blood in the system and much of it expired on the shelves, unused, because there was more than needed. ALso, if you donate right now, you will not be eligible to donate again for 8 weeks, so about a month after 9/11 there was a bit of a shortage, because many people couldn’t donate again for several weeks.
Consider delaying your donation for a week or two to insure a good steady flow of blood that will allow blood banks to replenish their inventory. Most blood banks in the United States are part of an emergency sharing system and will be shipping ready to transfuse products to Boston if they are needed. Spacing out donations insures everyone will have blood to provide their community in the coming weeks.

This is happening right now in my country Venezuela. All around the country Militaries are killing people just because we are defending what is Good. We want justice! We were doing a pacific protest and then they came and started to shoot and use gas against people and the government says that people need to show respect for the militaries. People are being seriously injured and murdered. Respect? Democracy? Peace? NICOLAS YOU ARE NOT MY PRESIDENT YOU COWARD.
GUYS PLEASE RB, I KNOW THAT EVERYONE IS WORRIED ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN BOSTON BUT WE ARE ABOUT TO GO ON A CIVIL WAR IN VENEZUELA!!
THEY JUST MADE MADURO TAKE THE OATH AS PRESIDENT, THEY’RE BURNING THE BALLOT BOXES, AND THEY’RE LEAVING THE COUNTRY WITH ALL THE PEOPLE’S MONEY
Let’s add to that that no International entity recognizes the election’s results and are asking for a recount, yet the CNE allowed Maduro to take the oath (wich was supposed to be on the 19th). The CNE’s president is leaving the country now.
We’re officially in a dictatorship.

This has nothing to do with movie horror and everything to do with real-life horror.
I’m from Massachusetts. I went to college in Boston, grew up outside the city. I have a lot of friends and family who were at the Marathon, most of whom have checked in. But the one person we can’t find is my godmother, who is the person who was the most likely to be where the explosions happened. I’ve gotten to the point in the day where we haven’t heard from her in hours and I’m really freaking out. So I’m turning to the internet for help.
Her name is Marie Turley, known as Mimi. She is the Women’s Commissioner for the City of Boston. If she is not injured, she is probably volunteering at a shelter to help those displaced by this tragedy since she has a lot of experience doing so. (So if you happen to be volunteering in a shelter and take a second to check your phone, please glance around for her.) I’m hoping she is just doing that but I can’t get a hold of her.
So please, please, please if you hear anything about her, send me an Ask. I love my Auntie Mimi very much and I just want to know she is safe. I’m sure she is out there, doing her best to help other people. But I need to know that she’s not one of the people who was injured by the blast. I’ve done the Google and Red Cross missing person alerts too but I’m hoping someone out there in the Tumblrverse will see this and know something.
She is in her late 60s, with shoulder-length brown hair. She’s about 5’3” and a little on the bigger side. She is probably wearing a scarf (because she loves them). If she is not hurt, she is probably helping to direct the shelter efforts. If she is hurt, I don’t even know what to tell you to identify her. She’s funny and jovial and wears big earrings and has a big heart - not that that helps you identify her but it’s true. It was just her birthday earlier in April, right before mine.
Please help me find my Auntie Mimi. I love her so much and I just need to know she’s okay. I know there are so many other people who are in the same awful place I am, waiting and not knowing (or knowing the worst) and my heart goes out to you.
Thank you.
